Happy Valentines Day po mula sa amin dito sa SSS. Nawa’y ramdam niyo lahat ang good vibes dahil sa nag-uumapaw na pag-ibig. Talagang love is in the air dito sa Baguio dahil sa mga samu’t saring bulaklak na inilalako sa bawat sulok ng lungsod tulad ng roses at sunflowers.

Speaking of bulaklak, nakausap ko noong nakaraang linggo ang isang rose grower sa La Trinidad, Benguet. Tinanong niya ako tungkol sa SSS membership nilang mga gardeners at farmers. Simula kasi noong nagka-pandemya, naging matumal na raw ang kanilang benta kaya nahihirapan na sila sa gastusin. Ang ilan pa nga sa kanila ay nakaligtaan nang magbayad ng kanilang SSS contributions maging ang utang nila sa SSS. Ano raw ba ang maaari nilang gawin para hindi sila matanggal bilang miyembro ng SSS?

Una, nilinaw ko sa kanya na walang natatanggal na SSS member dahil hindi na ito nakakapagbayad ng kanyang contribution o loan. Once a member, will always be a member. Pangalawa, ang mga farmers at gardeners ay naka-tag sa SSS bilang mga Self-Employed members. Ibig sabihin, nakabase ang kanilang kontribusyon sa kanilang buwanang kita. Kung wala silang kita sa loob ng isang buwan, ang pagbabayad ng kontribusyon sa SSS para sa buwan na iyon ay hindi kailangan. Hindi na nila maaaring bayaran ang mga buwan na lumipas. Ngunit, pinayuhan ko ang aking kausap na mas mainam na ipagpatuloy pa rin niyang bayaran ang kontribusyon para makasigurong kwalipikado siya sa mga short term benefits gaya sickness, maternity, at disability benefits, pati na rin ang pagtanggap ng retirement pension sa hinaharap. Pagdating naman sa mga hindi nabayarang utang sa SSS, nagkaroon naman ng 2-month loan moratorium noong nakaraang taon kaya hindi rin gaano kabigat ang penalty sa mga apektadong miyembro.

Mabuting balita rin para sa ating mga self-employed members dahil simula noong September 2020 ay sakop na rin sila ng Employees’ Compensation Benefits. Ito ay karagdagang benepisyo sa mga miyembro kung sakaling sila ay magkasakit, mabalda o mamatay habang nasa trabaho. Maliban sa regular na SSS contribution, kailangan lamang nilang magbayad ng karagdagang P10.00 kada buwan kung ang kita o sahod nila ay P14,749.99 pababa at trenta pesos (P30.00) naman kada buwan kung ang sahod ay P14,750.00 pataas. Para sa mga farmers at gardeners na babad sa mainit at malamig na temperatura buong araw, malaking bagay sa kanila ang EC benefits.

Pagdating sa April 1, 2021, kailangan ng Self-employed, Voluntary, OFW members at Employers ang Payment Reference Number o PRN sa tuwing magbabayad sila ng short-term loans tulad ng Salary Loan, Calamity Loan, Emergency Assistance Loan at restructured loan sa ilalim ng LRP. Ang paggamit ng PRN ay makakatulong para sa agaran at wastong loan payment posting.

Para sa mga individual payee (Self-employed, Voluntary at OFW), maaaring i-generate ang PRN for Loan Payment sa pamamagitan ng sarili nilang My.SSS account. Ito ay ma-aaccess sa “RTPL/PRN” na makikita sa dashboard.

Para naman sa mga employers, maaaring i-generate ang PRN ng kanilang mga empleyadong magbabayad ng loan gamit ang kanilang employer account sa My.SSS.

Pwedeng magbayad ang individual members ng kanilang loan sa SSS Tellering at sa Real Time Processing of Loans o RTPL – compliant bank partners tulad ng Security Bank at Union Bank of the Philippines. Ang mga employers naman ay maaaring magbayad sa mga eGov facilities ng BancNet tulad ng sa Asia United Bank, Bank of Commerce, China Bank Corporation, CTBC Bank, Metrobank, MUFG bank, Philippine Bank of Communications, PNB, RCBC, Robinsons Bank, Standard Chartered Bank at UCPB.

Mabuting araw sir Richard! Ang WISP o Workers’ Investment and Savings Program ay isang retirement savings scheme para sa mga nagbabayad ng contribution na higit sa P 2,600 o may MSC na lagpas P20,000.00. Anumang sobra sa halagang iyan ay mapupunta sa WISP account ng miyembro kaya awtomatiko ang enrollment ng miyembro sa WISP. Para sa mga detalye, maaari niyong balikan ang aking kolum noong nakaraang January 10.
