LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – The provincial government is embarking on a new vision for the province to become a “Haven of Sustainable Communities” with the support of the citizens and other stakeholders.
In his State-of-the-Province Address held Thursday at the provincial capitol, Governor Crescencio Pacalso sought the support of everyone in the achievement of its vision in the delivery of the provincial government’s services with its new mission anchored on the values of Integrity, Commitment, Accountability, Responsiveness, Excellence or I CARE.
To be able to achieve the vision and mission, Pacalso underscored commitment to other areas apart from education, health, peace and order, social welfare and services, infrastructure, veterinary services, and tourism.
Pacalso said the provincial government is committed to increase farm productivity to help and improve the conditions of farmers for good farming systems promoting good agricultural practice and conversion from conventional to organic farming.
He also underscored the promotion of entrepreneurship to enable micro, small and medium entrepreneurs to conduct business and improve their lot.
The provincial government is also committed to protect the environment through people’s resilience in times of disasters.
In support to good governance, he said the provincial government will enforce compliance, participation, transparency, and accountability of all personnel and government officials of the province. It will also endeavor to increase revenues and enhance tax collection.
The local government, he said, will develop competency for the people to meet challenges ahead. It will likewise Intensify efforts on information and technology and innovation to have access to information.
Another commitment is to strengthen teamwork within and among its departments in order to deliver much needed services of their clients.
The governor announced that the provincial government has organized a monitoring and evaluation team in order to keep track of projects implemented by the province including those by the line agencies.
Pacalso enjoined the help and support of everyone so that the provincial government could carry out and deliver the services to its constituents.
