Bontoc, Mountain Province – The member of the Pag-IBIG Fund and the public are encouraged to avail of the services of the agency without the hassle of going to Baguio City.

Aimed at bringing its services closer to the people, the Pag-IBIG Fund has its Service Desk located at the Municipal Tourism Office, First Floor of the Bontoc Municipal Capitol. Two personnel of the Pag-IBIG Fund are to cater to the clients who shall avail of its services except for acceptance of payments. It is open from Monday to Friday, except during Holidays.

The ceremonial opening and benediction of the Pag-IBIG Fund Bontoc Service Desk was held on May 5, 2022. The blessing was officiated by Rev. Fr. Samuel Maximo, Mission Rector of Sta. Rita de Cascia Cathedral.

Pag-IBIG Fund Vice President Member Services Operations -Luzon Group Lilia Anguluan expressed her profound gratitude to the Bontoc Local Government Unit (LGU) under the leadership of Bontoc Mayor Franklin Odsey for providing space to Pag-IBIG Fund that is free of charge.

Anguluan added that the Pag-IBIG Fund Service Desk at the Bontoc Municipal Capitol will not only cater to Bontoc residents, but to all municipalities of Mountain Province and nearby provinces.

Mervin Pereda, the Pag-IBIG Fund Area Head of Ilocos Region (Dagupan, Urdaneta, La Union, Vigan, and Ilocos Norte) and Baguio – Branches, along with the Branch Head Corina Joyce Balanon-Calaguin of Pag-IBIG Fund-Baguio Branch joined Anguluan in extending their gratitude the Bontoc LGU, especially to Mayor Odsey for the warm welcome and positive response to their requests such as the provision of a free space and installation of the signages.

Vice Mayor Eusebio Kabluyen who represented Mayor Odsey during the occasion mentioned that the presence of Pag-IBIG Service Desk in Bontoc is a welcome development in bringing government services closer to the people.

Kabluyen lauded the Pag-IBIG Fund for reaching out to the Bontoc LGU for them to be provided with a space at the Bontoc Municipal Capitol so they may continuously provide effective and efficient services to clients, especially during this pandemic. With this, he encouraged the Pag-IBIG members to take the opportunity to avail of the services and urge the non-members to apply for membership.

Mayor Odsey who has to attend an equally important event in an interview remarked that it is one way in which the Bontoc LGU can be of help.

“The public or Pag-IBIG Fund members are now spared from the hassle of going thru the rigors of traveling and queuing at the Pag-IBIG Fund-Baguio Branch. The presence of a Pag-IBIG Fund Service Desk in Bontoc will lessen the financial burden and time of members traveling to Baguio City to process their documents and avail of its services.
