BONTOC, Mountain Province – The Provincial Advisory Group for Police Transformation and Development (PAGPTD) launched the Project Community Awareness Responsibility and Education (CARE) at Camp Montes, Bontoc, Mountain Province (MP) on February 17 2025.
According to PAGPTD Chair, Atty. Agosto C. Libang, the PAGPTD is a group initiated by the Mountain Province Police Provincial Office (MPPPO), which is composed of members from various sectors of the community whose objective is to collaborate with law enforcement in keeping the peace and security in MP. Project CARE is one of the programs by the group initiated by PAGPTD member Dr Claire Kaplaan P. Lafadchan of the Mountain Province State University.
“Project CARE is a new dimension in crime prevention using crafted information education materials to raise awareness in further preventing crime,” Libang said.
Lafadchan further explained that Project CARE was born from a deep understanding of the community’s specific needs and is a direct result of valuable studies conducted by local researchers and concerns from the PAGPTD members.
“This project aims to encourage all ten municipal stations in Mountain Province to adopt and utilize contextualized IEC materials, both in print and online formats to ensure relevant, easily understood, and accessible information to all members of our community,” Lafadchan said
In addition, PAGPTD Vice Chair Paulino D. Tumapang suggested the distribution of the IEC materials to the various information pages of different local government units, government offices, non-government offices, and civil society organizations in each municipality.
