TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Officials from the six partner barangays which were chosen as beneficiaries for the sub-project proposals under the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan – Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS) PAMANA attended the orientation on competitive procurement process on August 1.
Ronda Luis of the Procurement Division of the City General Services Office and Abdul Malik Sairola, secretariat of the Bids and Awards Committee of the city government both shared the salient features, guidelines and Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of RA 9184 (Government Procurement Reform Act) among the participants.
Chan Keith Patongao, the area coordinator for Social Welfare and Development (SWAD) Kalinga said that only six of the original 22 beneficiaries were included in the cycle II budget.
Based on records, Dupag gets PhP4,977,450.00 allocation for the construction of a footbridge along Sitio Sabangan and Sitio Minanga, New Tanglag will receive PhP2,017,992.50 for the construction of a barangay health station.
Brgy. Magnao will receive PhP2,185,000 for the construction of a health station in Purok 4 Baguiwong; Lacnog West will get PhP1,789.492.50 to construct a Child Development Center in Sitio Lanlana; Lucog will receive PhP1,345,250 to improve the Child Development Center in Pinagan leaving, and finally Gobgob for the construction of drying pavement amounting to PhP1,171,492.50.
The six partner barangays will work on the request for fund release, in order for the fund to be downloaded in their barangay account for KALAHI. After which, training will again be conducted before the implementation of the project.
Napoleon Ayang-ang, representing City Mayor Darwin Estrañero, expressed his gratitude to the DSWD for funding some infrastructure projects in the barangays, saying these projects will be greatly beneficial to the people. By Darwin S. Serion
