LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – The province of Pangasinan fetes the achievement of Dagupan City Vice Mayor Marc Brian Lim, who was elected as World President of the Junior Chamber International (JCI). He is the sixth Filipino and first Pangasinense who attained the said post.
The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) via Provincial Resolution No. 1203-2017 recognizes and commends JCI Senator Lim for being elected as 2018 JCI World President during the World Congress held on November 6-10 in Amsterdam, Netherlands, succeeding Immediate Past World President Dawn Hetzel of United States of America (USA).
“Such feat brought pride and prestige deserving of full recognition and commendation from the Province of Pangasinan,” the resolution authored by Board Members Jeremy Agerico Rosario and Liberato Villegas stated.
Lim rose from the ranks in JCI which is an international organization of young active citizens in more than 100 countries worldwide, including USA, Japan, Korea, Canada, Netherlands, France, Russia, United Kingdom, Singapore, Australia, Italy, Germany, Turkey, Philippines and more, which is founded by Henry Giessenbier, Jr. of St. Louis, USA in October, 1915.
Lim started being a JCI member in the local organization Dagupan Bangus in 2008 and became chapter president in 2013.
In 2015, Lim was elected JCI Philippines National President wherein he earned nominations as grade A+ as national president candidate. He became JCI Vice President for Asia Pacific and elevated to the JCI World Executive Vice President position in 2017.
Former Dagupan City Mayor Benjamin S. Lim, his father, was JCI Philippines 1990 National President and 1991 Vice President for Asia Pacific, making them the first father-and-son Presidents and World Vice Presidents in the history of JCI Philippines.
