LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – More and more unemployed Pangasinenses have been getting jobs as their chances to search for employment have been intensified through the provincial government’s regular conduct of jobs fair in various areas in the province.
Just recently, hundreds of jobseekers from the province availed of another opportunity to seek employment as the Provincial Employment Services Office (PESO) held a Jobs and Livelihood fair with One-Stop Shop for Government Programs and Services recently at the Macario Ydia Development Center in Mangaldan town.
PESO manager Alex F. Ferrer said the latest activity was also a special membership day for families of Overseas Filipino Workers and other Mangaldan townsfolk who stay overseas to the OFW Returnees and their Dependents Organization (MORADO).
The special membership day, according to Ferrer, also gave opportunity to the OFW families in Mangaldan to register and become part of the association.
Companies and agencies in attendance at the jobs fair included nine firms for local employment and three agencies for employment overseas.
These are the 3Cs Industrial Staffing Solution, Hitachi Global Storage Phils. Corp., Puregold Price Club, Inc., San Vicente Dressing Plant/Champion Employment Agency, Sutherland Global Services, St. Joseph Drug Store, Hanjin, Career Planners Specialist, Havillah Int’l Manpower Services, Inc., and S & D Manpower Services.
Ferrer said at least 60 applicants were hired on the spot, while over a hundred other applicants qualified for training and further interview.
As this developed, the One-Stop-Shop for Government Programs and Services was also able to serve over a hundred clients who were attended to by representatives of the participating government agencies like the Department of Labor and Employment Central Pangasinan, Philippine Overseas Employment Administration RO1, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration RO1, TESDA Provincial Office, Social Security System, PhilHealth, Pag-Ibig Fund, Land Bank of the Philippines and the provincial offices of Social Welfare and Development, Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, Provincial Population Office and the Provincial Anti-Drug Council.
The project which is under the provincial government’s Bantay Barangay, Tulong Hanapbuhay program is also in support to the I Love Pangasinan Movement seeking to improve the quality of life of each Pangasinense.
Liga ng mga Barangay President and Board Member Amado “Pogi” Espino III graced the event as a show of support to the program and to the welfare of the many Pangasinenses provincewide.
