LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – The Pangasinan Job Fair On Wheels of the Provincial Government of Pangasinan was successfully launched in Umingan town despite heavy rainfall, benefitting hundreds of jobseekers on July 18.
Organized by the Pangasinan Provincial Employment Services Office (PESO) in partnership with Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and local government unit (LGU) of Umingan, the mobile job fair project was open to both graduate and undergraduate individuals.
Numerous job opportunities were offered by five international agencies, including: Androme Recruitment & Mgt. Services, Career Planners Specialists, EDI Staffbuilders, Placewell Services Corp. and RRJM International Manpower Services; and six local agencies such as: 3Cs Industrial Staffing Solutions, Magnapeak Services Corp., SM Urdaneta, EEI Corporation, RDF Feed, Livestock & Foods, Inc., and Rayvill Electrical Const’n. Corp.
PESO manager Alex F. Ferrer said that this mobile job fair project intends to intensify the mini jobs fair regularly conducted by the provincial government and bring job opportunities closer to the people.
Elated over the successful launching of the mobile job fair project, Umingan Mayor Carleone M. Cruz expressed his gratitude to the provincial government for choosing his town as the pilot recipient as he pledged full support to future undertakings that advocate employment thrusts of the Espino administration.
Meanwhile, DOLE Region 1 Director Nathaniel V. Lacambra hailed the provincial government’s continuing efforts to reinforce the labor force through its job placement assistance program.
In saying this, the DOLE Regional Director extolled Governor Amado I. Espino, III for ‘pioneering’ a mobile job fair project which, according to him, is the first of its kind in the country.
“In my 36 years of service, ngayon lang ako nakakita ng Job Fair On Wheels. Congratulations, Governor Espino for pioneering dahil kayo po ang nauna sa buong Pilipinas na magkaroon ng Job Fair On Wheels,” he said.
As such, he exhorted each applicant to grab the job opportunities laid upon by the provincial government.
Leading the ribbon-cutting ceremony were: 6th district board member Noel C. Bince, DOLE director Lacambra, Umingan Mayor Cruz, Pangasinan SK Federation President Jerome Espino and PESO Manager Ferrer.
In addition to the job opportunities, a One-Stop-Shop was also organized by the PESO to assist some Pangasinenses in availing their respective services. These national agencies include: Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), PhilHealth, Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA), Social Security System (SSS) Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
