DAGUPAN CITY – In an effort to provide essential healthcare services to underserved families, the Local Government Unit (LGU) of San Fabian, Pangasinan, in partnership with the Rotary Club of San Fabian and the Rotary Club of San Diego-Paradise-Valley, California, will hold a free medical mission on Jan. 11 at the Archdiocesan School of San Fabian (ASSF).
The event will begin at 7:00 a.m. and continue until all beneficiaries have been served.
With this event, San Fabian, a first-class municipality in Pangasinan, aims to provide healthcare services to its most vulnerable residents.
Comprehensive healthcare services
San Fabian Mayor Marlyn Agbayani emphasized the importance of the medical mission in addressing healthcare gaps, particularly for vulnerable residents.
“The activity aims to provide free medical, dental, prenatal, surgical, haircut, blood donation, reading glasses prescription, and massage with lots of perks like consultations, medicines, vitamins, reading glasses, and feeding that will greatly benefit the unprivileged and underserved community of San Fabian,” Agbayani said.
Meanwhile, the Rotary Club of San Fabian and the Rotary Club of San Diego-Paradise-Valley, California will deploy personnel, including doctors, nurses, and pharmacists, while also providing essential supplies—such as medicines, vitamins, and reading glasses—and resources for a feeding program.
In addition to catering to San Fabian’s residents, Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Officer (MENRO) Tony Supremido assured that walk-in patients from neighboring towns would also be accommodated, depending on the availability of resources.
“Although bonafide residents are the priority of this medical mission, the Mayor’s Office assured that walk-ins from nearby towns will be catered to, as long as there are enough resources and capacity to accommodate them,” Supremido stated in a phone interview on Tuesday.
He added that over 2,000 individuals of all ages are expected to benefit from the medical mission, ensuring access to essential health services and promoting overall well-being.
For inquiries and further details, residents may contact the Mayor’s Office at 633-3990 or reach Mr. Tony Supremido at 0967-820-1022.
The event is a way for the LGU to show its support for the well-being of the community – aiming to uplift the health and quality of life for all.
Kickoff event for town fiesta
The medical mission will also mark the official kickoff of San Fabian’s annual town fiesta, set to begin on Jan. 20.
Supremido shared that the upcoming fiesta will feature traditional performances, sports events, pageants, a parade, raffle draws, and various activities designed to celebrate the town’s culture and strengthen community ties.
Likewise, Supremido emphasized that LGU San Fabian remains steadfast in its efforts to support the community through initiatives that not only strengthen unity and enjoyment but also prioritize the overall well-being of its people.
The San Fabian LGU and its partners aim to address the community’s health needs through a coordinated and efficient approach. They also plan to hold similar health initiatives regularly to ensure continued support for public well-being. (CCMT/JCDR, PIA Pangasinan)
