City officials recently tasked the City Engineering Office–Traffic and Transportation Management Division (CEO-TTMD) to identify at least two parking spaces for delivery trucks along Kayang Hilltop Street for the delivery of essential goods or services in the area.
Under Resolution No. 587, series of 2024, the Committee on Public Utilities, Transportation and Traffic Legislation, in its 2nd indorsement dated September 18, 2024, recommended that the subject matter be given favorable action by the concerned offices of the local government.
Further, the CEO-TTMD which has the technical expertise will be tasked to immediately identify parking spaces to be liberated enough to fit at least two delivery trucks so as not to obstruct and delay essential delivery of goods or services.
Earlier, the council considered in a letter dated September 3, 2024 of Conrado E. Tomilas, et al, occupants of the Munsayac building, requesting to consider the liberation of the parking spaces along Kayang Hilltop Street, especially in front of the said building, as it obstructs the essential deliveries such as water supply, equipment loading and unloading, among others.
The letter stated that the duly occupied edge-to-edge road parking allegedly causes traffic jams and substantial delays during the transport of deliverables during the daytime.
Copies of the approved resolution will be transmitted to the CEO-TTMD for information, guidance, ready reference and further needed action. By Dexter A. See
