BAGUIO CITY – The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Baguio-Benguet Chapter (PCCI-BBC) will be holding its annual meeting and election of the Board of Directors for the year 2016-2017 on June 26, 2015, 2 pm, at the CoEDC Chamber Center, Gov. Pack Road here.
Dr. Rhodora A. Ngolob, PCCI-BBC president and Dean of the University of the Cordilleras – College of Business Administration, encouraged all members of the business organization to actively participate in the general members meeting and the election of the group’s next set of officers in order to continue the implementation of programs and projects beneficial in uplifting the state of business in the Baguio and Benguet areas.
“We want to empower local businessmen to help the organization uplift their current standing in our community and for the business sector to have a clearer voice in the crafting of business-friendly policies being crafted by the host local governments,” Ngolob stressed.
The PCCI-BBC official urged all members to register upon arrival in the venue of the activity for them to be able to actively participate in the various activities that were lined up for the general meeting and election of officers.
However, Ngolob said only those members who are up to date in the payment of their membership dues as of June 15, 2015 will be considered members in good standing and will be entitled to vote and be voted upon to serve as future officers of the organization.
In case members cannot attend the meeting and election of officers, they can appoint those who serve as their proxy so that their voice will be heard in determining the next set of officers of the business group. The members are required to fill up a proxy form in advance and must be submitted to the PCCI-BBC office to serve as the guide of the election committee.
Ngolob disclosed proxy forms must be with the secretariat on or before June 15, 2015 or else there designated proxy will not be allowed to vote during the elections.
The initial list of the members who can be voted upon by the members include the University of the Cordilleras (UC), MBI Lending, Inc., Melody’s Apartelle and MBI Apartelle, Kristoffe Benedict’s General Merchadnise, Beta Broadcasting Systems, Inc., St. Louis University, Baguio New City Supermart, ALPA-PCM, Inc., Tiong San group of companies, Marcon’s Builders, Inc., Realeza Development Corporation, Prime Peak Properties, Ltd., Inc., Abratique Associations, Inc., ARK and K General Merchandise, Avis Rent A Car, Co., Baguio-Benguet Community Credit Cooperative, Inc., Baguio Country Club, Inc., Baguio Excellent Shell Station, Baguio Fashion Center and Baguio Water District.
The PCCI-BBC is the largest business organization of businesses in the Baguio and Benguet areas and that it is affiliated with the PCCI, the umbrella organization of business groups in the country.
