CAMP DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet – The Cordillera office of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA-CAR) recently announced it is now accepting applicants for drug enforcement officers in order to beef up its manpower and strengthen its anti-drug operations geared towards minimizing the supply of prohibited drugs regionwide.
Juvenal Azurin, PDEA-CAR regional director, said to qualify for the said available positions, an applicant must be a baccalaureate degree holder; civil service professional eligible or board or bar examination passer or otherwise qualified under the Civil Service Commission (CSC) and other special laws, at least 21 years old but not more than 34 years old and at least 5 feet and 2 inches tall for men and 5 feet in height for women or possesses a height waiver from the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) if under height.
Azurin disclosed qualified applicants from the Cordillera should personally submit to the PDEA-CAR regional office here two sets of his or her green-colored long folder, containing his duly accomplished personal data sheet (downloadable from http..//www.csc.gov.ph), labelled as tab “A”; photocopy of applicant’s official transcript of records, marked as tab “B”; Photocopy of his college diploma, as Tab “C”; Photocopy of applicant’s Certification of Eligibility or Board Rating, as Tab “D”; Birth Certificate issued by the National Statistics Office or Local Civil Registrar, as Tab “E”; and if applicable, Height Waiver, as Tab “F”. Deadline for filing of application is September 30, 2015.

Azurin appealed to qualified applicants from the different parts of the region to immediately file their applications so that they will undergo the appropriate tests that would result to their subsequent employment in the service and for a chance for them to be able to contribute in uplifting the living condition of their families.
He said the drug enforcement officers that will be hired by the agency will definitely play a key role in curbing the proliferation of prohibited drugs in the different places of the region considering that Baguio City is being used as a transhipment point of shabu from the lowlands to the interior parts of the region and marijuana from the remote villages of the region to the potential markets in the lowlands and Metro Manila.
