BAGUIO CITY – The successful implementation of IMPLAN “KALMANG Paglalakbay” by the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) significantly contributed to the generally peaceful observance of Holy Week 2025 in the city.
The week-long security and public safety operations under IMPLAN “KALMANG Paglalakbay” ensured a heightened police presence at terminals, places of worship, tourist spots, and other areas of convergence. BCPO personnel were strategically deployed to manage traffic flow, respond to emergencies, and provide assistance to both residents and tourists.
Further strengthening BCPO’s operational strategy was the use of the BCPO VIEW Baguio App, which provided real-time traffic and parking updates to guide the public. Anti-theft teams were deployed to crowded areas such as marketplaces and tourist spots to prevent crime, while continuous information dissemination through BCPO’s social media platforms kept the public informed with safety tips and timely updates throughout the Holy Week.
Complementing these efforts was the strict enforcement of COMELEC checkpoint operations, which helped prevent the unauthorized possession/transport firearm, and other contraband in accordance with election-related laws.
The effective implementation of the plan was instrumental in preventing major incidents during the religious observance, assuring the public of their safety and convenience throughout the Holy Week.
City Director PCol. Ruel D. Tagel praised the seamless execution of the plan: “The success of ‘KALMANG Paglalakbay’ reflects our commitment to proactive policing and community partnership. We will continue to serve with a SMILE dahil ang gusto ng BCPO, ligtas ka.”
