PASAY CITY – The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) has recognized four (4) additional locator companies for its exceptional contributions to the Philippine economy through their operations in the ecozones.
“As PEZA turns 30 next year, we want to honor and pay homage to our RBEs for your continuous trust and confidence in the Philippines—a significant part of our local and national economic progress. That is why we’ve decided to conduct this unique awarding ceremony,” said PEZA Director General Tereso O. Panga.
For the month of November, PEZA awarded Philippine Manufacturing Co. of Murata, Inc., Insight Direct Philippines, LLC, Concentrix CVG Philippines, Inc., and ING Hubs B.V. Philippines Branch the Outstanding Community Projects, Outstanding Exporter, and Hall of Fame Awards for their exemplary performance for the fiscal year 2023. The PEZA Team, led by DG Panga, conferred the awards at their facilities in Ayala and Laguna.
Outstanding Community Projects
The Philippine Manufacturing Co. of Murata, Inc. and Insight Direct Philippines, LLC were honored with the Outstanding Community Project recognition for their meaningful corporate social responsibility (CSR) projects such as scholarship programs, free medical and dental services, tree planting, gift giving, or similar community-focused projects.
Receiving the award for three consecutive years, PEZA conferred the Outstanding Community Projects award to Murata at their office in the First Philippine Industrial Park (FPIP) in Laguna last 15 November 2024.
“This award is a testament to our unwavering commitment to nurturing deep relationship with the local communities where we operate. Our vision is very clear—to be a company that brings happiness and pride to both local communities and our employees. Community development goes beyond more public responsibility,” stated Murata President Masayoshi Koda.
Established as part of Murata’s global growth strategy, the Philippine Manufacturing Co. of Murata is a leading producer and supplier of various electronic components, serving industries such as telecommunications, automotive, and consumer electronics. To date, Murata has already injected into the country more than PhP20 Billion worth of investments’, generated over USD170 Million in exports, and employed above 4,000 Filipino workers. The company also expanded its operations in the Philippines to include research and development (R&D) and other related activities.
On the same day, Insight Direct Philippines was given, for the first time, the PEZA Outstanding Community Projects award in recognition of their efforts to broaden their mission and positively impact both their employees and the local community.
Insight Executive and General Admin Ivy Ledres highlighted, “Our CSR projects at Insight are an extension of our core values of Hunger, Heart, and Harmony aimed at empowering individuals and communities to thrive. The whole year projects from our individual teammates and Insight Manila partnered foundation are a testament of our commitment to social responsibility… making a difference in the lives of people and communities.”
A PEZA-registered enterprise since 2005, Insight specializes in delivering cutting-edge digital transformation, advisory services, and IT outsourcing solutions. Insight serves a wide range of industries, offering back-office services such as accounting, purchasing, graphics, and IT services, along with expertise in cloud computing, AI, data analytics, and call center operations.
Outstanding Exporter
Last November 25, PEZA recognized Concentrix CVG Philippines, Inc. for its exceptional contributions to the Philippine economy through outstanding export performance, generating over US$ 450 Million worth of exports.
“Apart from the money, I think what is more important is to really make a difference… One of the things going back to the culture that we have is, you actually do the right thing, just not just for the organization, but for the communities and supporters,” expressed Concentrix CVG President Amit Jagga.
Registered with PEZA since 2002, Concentrix is renowned for its excellence in developing and operating a call center business that serves international clients. The company excels in providing excellent customer relationship management services across multiple communication channels, including but not limited to telephone, facsimile, email, web chat, voice-over internet, and other related or allied business operations.
The PEZA Chief also commended Concentrix CVG for being named the Asia CEO’s 2024 Company of the Year and for earning recognition as one of only five “Inspiring Workplaces in Asia” in 2024, ranking number one globally in the same category.
In response to this, Jagga expressed, “We are one of those few organizations where the Philippines business is much bigger than the India business. And we really believe in the Philippines as a key place where we can continue. And that would have not happened without the support of the PEZA.”
Elevation to Hall of Fame
Furthermore, PEZA has elevated ING Hubs B.V. Philippines Branch into the Hall of Fame for receiving the Outstanding Employer award three times, from 2020 to 2022.
ING Hubs General Manager Hazel Delos Santos shared that one of their top priorities is employee welfare. She explained that ING Hubs has implemented various strategies designed to provide growth opportunities for its employees while simultaneously strengthening its local operations.
She also lauded PEZA for its continuous support and assistance to the company and the industry saying that “[What] makes it more special [is] that being a Hall of Famer for PEZA is not necessarily because of the contribution of just ING Hubs Philippines or the industry. It is because you made it also happen.”
ING Hubs has established itself as one of the leading Dutch companies in the Philippines, starting with its registration in 2016 as an I.T enterprise. To date, ING Hubs already injected to the country almost PhP 2 Billion of investments and employed more than 5,400 Filipino workers. ING Hubs commits to continue maintaining their momentum in the country and increase employment of Filipino talents nationwide.
Director General Panga stated, “We thank our locators for their continued trust and confidence in PEZA and the Philippines through the years. We remain steadfast in our role as enablers of ecozone industries and advocates for our investors’ interests, committed to our thrust to eco-zoning the country towards inclusive and sustainable development para sa Bagong Pilipinas!”
PEZA is set to award eight (8) more ecozone locator companies in recognition of their valuable contributions to the country.
