PASAY CITY – In continuous recognition of exceptional operations of locators and the impact of ecozones, the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) has awarded six (6) additional locator companies this December for their outstanding contributions to the nation’s economic growth.
PEZA Director General Tereso O. Panga remarked, “As PEZA celebrates the achievements of these outstanding locator companies, it reaffirms its commitment to fostering a thriving business environment that drives economic growth, innovation, and sustainability in the Philippines. Through these awards, PEZA reiterates the vital role of private sector partners in shaping the country’s progress, and together, they continue to build a brighter, more prosperous future for the nation.”
Spearheaded by DG Panga and his team, the six (6) companies honored this month were Denso Ten Philippines Corporation, TDK Philippines Corporation, Qiagen Manila, Inc., International Wiring Systems (Phils.) Corp., Canon Business Machines (Philippines), Inc., and the Philippine Associated Smelting & Refining Corporation (PASAR).
The awarding ceremonies took place in their respective facilities in various PEZA ecozones, including the First Philippine Industrial Park (FPIP) in Batangas, Luisita Industrial Park in Tarlac, Laguna Technopark, Inc., and Cyber Sigma in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.
“This year, we have taken a more personal approach by bringing the celebration directly to our locators to pay homage to each RBEs who has been with us for the last 29 years and more,” said the PEZA Chief.
This year’s unique PEZA Awarding Ceremony successfully recognized 13 outstanding locator companies, with one remaining company scheduled to be awarded in January 2025. In addition to the awarding, the ceremony featured a series of operational site visits that showcased the recent innovations and accomplishments of the awardees.
Outstanding Community Projects Award
The Outstanding Community Projects Award was presented to Denso Ten Philippines Corporation, TDK Philippines Corporation, and Qiagen Manila, Inc. in recognition of their meaningful community projects aimed at uplifting local communities through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
Denso Ten, TDK, and Qiagen Manila continue to impact the Philippine economy through its investments and employment opportunities. These companies also help improve the society by implementing various CSR initiatives which encompass a wide range of projects, from education and health programs to environmental sustainability projects, exemplifying how businesses can make a positive and impact beyond economic contributions.
Outstanding Exporter Award
PEZA also awarded International Wiring Systems (Phils.), Corp. the Outstanding Exporter Award for its exceptional performance in generating export revenue and maintaining competitiveness in the global market.
The company significantly boosted the country’s economy through increased foreign exchange earnings, having exported goods worth over 300 million US dollars in 2023. Since its registration, IWSP has contributed over PhP3 billion in investments and provided employment to more than 10,000 Filipinos.
Hall of Fame
In addition to this, PEZA elevated to the Hall of Fame TDK Philippines Corporation for receiving the Outstanding Environmental Performance award from 2021 to 2023.
With its focus on renewable energy and carbon neutrality, the company positions itself as a proactive entity within the manufacturing sector, particularly on the environmental challenges faced by the industry today.
This was the second award received by TDK this year in recognition of its impactful CSR and green initiatives, which not only address the immediate needs of communities but also contribute to sustainable, long-term socio-economic and environmental progress. TDK stands as a prime example of how businesses can drive meaningful changes that extend far beyond their operations.
“This achievement was made possible through the personal and remarkable contributions of all TDK Philippines members. Of course, we need everyone’s cooperation and support to ensure the success of our programs. Our strategy in protecting various environmental initiatives and community groups is an act of charity and I believe everyone understands the impact of our activities on the environment,” said TDK Philippines Corporation President Mr. Masatoshi Shindoh.
Addition to the list of Hall of Fame Awardees is Canon Business Machines (Philippines), Inc., recognized as an Outstanding Exporter from 2021 to 2023.
Since 2016, Canon has been a consistent recipient of various PEZA awards. This year, it achieved Hall of Fame status for its exceptional export performance, contributing significantly to the Philippine economy with over US$202.66 million in export value. This recognition underscores Canon’s steadfast commitment to excellence and its substantial role in driving economic growth.

This time, we are happy to receive for the first time at CBMP site the Hall of Fame for Outstanding Exporters Award. Billionaires’ Award
For the Billionaire’s Award, PEZA awarded for the third time the Philippine Associated Smelting & Refining Corporation (PASAR) for showcasing outstanding export performance which reaches US$2.754 billion. This award highlights PASAR’s steadfast dedication to excellence, innovation, and global competitiveness, as well as its significant contributions to the Philippine economy.
As the largest copper smelting and refining company in the Philippines and the first in Southeast Asia, PASAR has been one of PEZA’s longest-standing registered export enterprises, with its registration dating back to the EPZA days in 1982. For 42 years, the company has consistently supported the growth of the nation’s export sector by delivering high-quality products that meet international standards. PASAR’s success also serves to encourage more Swiss companies to consider the Philippines as their next investment destination.
