TUBA, Benguet – The Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP) conferred to the management of Philex Mining Corporation the Gold Anvil Award for its 2014 during the 51st Anvil Awards which was recently held at the Makati Shangrila Hotel.
Engr. Eulalio. B. Austin, Jr., Philex president and chief executive officer, cited the new feather on the cap for the largest gold and copper producer in the country serves as an inspiration to the company officials and employees to continue striving for the best in corporate governance and corporate social responsibility projects beneficial to the upliftment of the living condition of people in the host and neighboring communities.
“We are elated that our efforts to spur socio-economic growth in our host and neighboring communities continues to be given due recognition by respected and reputable award-giving bodies. We have to give credit to the company’s people on the ground who have been instrumental in closely working with the communities for the realization of our corporate social responsibility projects over the past several years,”Austin stressed.
The Anvil Awards, now on its 51st iteration, is the symbol of excellence in public relations in the Philippines and is awarded by a distinguished multi-sectoral jury to outstanding PR programs and tools designed and implemented during the previous year.
Austuin cited Phile will remain sensitive to the needs of the host and neighboring communities because the company values the importance of a harmonious working relationship with the community residents in its environs to help in the implementation of responsible interventions that would contribute in uplifting the living condition of the people in the said areas.
The company had been existing in the province over the past six decades and it was able to earn the respect of the people within its host and neighboring communities because of the practice of responsible mining which is one of its major thursts.

Yu, Dr. Nilo Rosas, Juror and President of New Era University; Paraluman M. Navarro, Philex Comptroller and Division Manager for Corporate Finance; Rochelle G.
