In line with President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s call to aid disaster recovery efforts following Typhoon Kristine, the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) has responded swiftly to support the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) by mobilizing its transportation resources for disaster relief efforts in Region 5.
Today, three PHLPost trucks were deployed, fully loaded with essential supplies to assist communities affected by the typhoon’s widespread damage. Two trucks carried 720 shelter tarpaulins (360 per truck), while a third truck was stocked with 3,500 hygiene kits. With an estimated total load of 60 tons, these deliveries are a crucial component of ongoing relief operations.
To expedite the transfer of relief goods from Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo to Villamor Airbase in Pasay, PHLPost’s logistical fleet is essential in ensuring these urgent supplies reach Region 5, one of the areas hardest hit by the typhoon. This partnership highlights PHLPost’s commitment to serving the public as a national postal service and a critical responder in times of crisis.
