CONNER, Apayao – The Department of Labor and Employment-Apayao Field Office (DOLE-Apayao), in collaboration with the Public Employment Services Office-Conner (PESO-Conner), paid out the wages of workers under the Tulong-Panghanapbuhay para sa Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers Program earlier today August 1, 2024 held at the EKB Clubhouse, Caglayan, Conner, Apayao.
A total of PhP967,500 was distributed to 150 individuals from various barangays in Conner; each received PhP6,450.
The beneficiaries were paid for working in the installation of kiosks, cultivation of community gardens, and tree planting activities done in water shed locations.
The said initiative was funded through the office of Congresswoman Eleanor C. Bulut-Begtang.
During the payout, the Karikitan Integrated Forestry Farmers Association (KIFFA) was awarded a livelihood project worth PhP455, 500 by DOLE-Apayao.
The project was made possible in collaboration with Barangay Karikitan and the municipal government. The award was for carpentry works services which was earlier proposed by the KIFFA. By Michelle Acantilado
