LUNA, Apayao – Pursuant to its commitment to advance healthcare and bring its services closer to the community, the Provincial Department of Health Office secured 22 million pesos to fund infrastructure projects, upgrading medical equipment in rural health units, and improving transportation services in Apayao rural health Units in 2025.
These projects and construction of facilities will be implemented in the following municipalities; Calanasan Rural Health Unit (RHU) – PhP6 Million budget for infrastructure, conner RHU – PhP2 Million budget for infrastructure, Luna RHU – PhP2 Million budget for infrastructure and PhP2.5 million for motor vehicle, Pudtol RHU – PhP6 Million budget for infrastructure and PhP1.5 million for medical equipment and Santa Marcela RHU – PhP2 Million budget for infrastructure
Upgrading infrastructure and medical equipment in RHUs helps to bridge existing gaps in healthcare delivery and ensure that access to high-quality healthcare and is recognized as a fundamental right rather than a privilege.
Furthermore, considering the growing number of tourists coming to the province, where most prefer risky adventures, these projects and facilities are crucial in case unavoidable accidents which require immediate medical attention occur.
Meanwhile, the provincial government is actively working to enhance healthcare facilities to promote a healthier well-being for its citizens and visitors alike. By Ginalyn Gapusan
