PIDIGAN, Abra – The vice mayor of this municipality was injured after he was shot several times by a still unidentified gunman inside his construction supply store at barangay Pamutic, here, Thursday morning.
Police authorities identified the victim as Noel Menor Bisares, 56, married, the incumbent Vice Mayor of this municipality and a resident of barangay Pamutic, Pidigan, Abra.
Initial police investigation showed that the victim was inside his construction supply store when two still unidentified riding in tandem persons arrived in front of the said store.
The armed backrider suddenly alighted from the motorcycle, immediately proceeded inside the store, and shot the victim several times before fleeing towards an undisclosed direction. The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds in his right arm and right shoulder and was rushed by the member of his family to the Northside Hospital in Bantay, Ilocos Sur for medical treatment.
Probers are still conducting an investigation on the motive of the incident while manhunt operation has been launched against the suspects. By Dexter A. See
