LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – Pistay Dayat revelers were given the chance to witness two aerial activities and an artillery static display showcased as part of the Pistay Dayat celebration.
Putting the revelers in awe while savoring good moments with relatives and friends at the Capitol beachfront, the Sky Diving by the Philippine Army (PA) – Special Forces had armed men presenting their sky diving skills, relative work and exhibition in the air.
Sponsored by the provincial government of Pangasinan and the Pangasinan Visitors’ Bureau (PVB), the machine-powered paragliding show, on the other hand, was brought by the Paragliding Philippines, a non-profit aero-sports facilitator which provides support to aero sports development.
PVB President Michelle Lioanag said that aside from witnessing the Paragliding exhibition show, Pistay Dayat revelers also experienced the aero-sport in its staging area at the Lingayen Gulf area near Purok Marcela which is near the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office.
The paragliding activity was held recently.
“With the introduction of paragliding to the Pistay Dayat celebration this year, we see the possibility of having the first paragliding chapter in Pangasinan, and also to promote paragliding as a beach sport in our province” Lioanag said.
Meanwhile, PA Major Sonny Dunca said the artillery static display, another PA-sponsored Pistay Dayat feature presented on April 30, displayed the typical set up of the military’s special forces team, including the equipment used by PA in combat operations.
“The artillery display is also an avenue for us to share our expertise in our military undertakings,” Dunca said.
