TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Eight police captains namely Benedict Bartolome, Jean Pacia, Christy Mae Pacia, Dalmacio Mangigil, Elmo Iwos, Oscar Dalmacio, John Bladimir Bawer, and Ricky Coteng, who are currently enrolled at the National Police College in Pampanga, paid a courtesy visit to Mayor Darwin Estrañero.
The officers are conducting research on the state of peace and order in the city and majority are assigned at the Kalinga Provincial Police Office (KPPO).
During their visit, the junior officers informed Mayor Estrañero that they intended to work on theses that would concentrate on maintaining peace and order in Tabuk City and the province of Kalinga. To address local issues, they are split up into three groups, each focusing on a particular area of study.
According to Mayor Estrañero, their research should focus on ways how to teach the city’s drivers, especially motorcycle and tricycle drivers, how to navigate the city’s six-lane roadways safely. He underlined that there are more car accidents because many drivers do not know how to handle these routes. In order to improve driver education and encourage safer road usage, he asked the police officers to think about stepping up road checkpoints.
The meeting underscored the collaborative effort between the city government and law enforcement to enhance public safety and uphold peace and order in the city and the province. By Jesse Maguiya
