BONTOC, Mountain Province – Mayor Jerome “Chagsen” Tudlong, Jr. administered the oath-taking of the newly elected officers of the Poblacion Bontoc Senior Citizens Organization for the term 2025-2028.
The event took place on February 24, 2025, at the Senior Citizen’s Office of the Bontoc Municipal Capitol.
Richard Soliven was sworn in as the organization’s President, with Jerry Bacdawen as Vice President. Divina Gacutan assumed the role of Secretary and Mary Cleofe Gacusana as Assistant Secretary Christine Gomez took her oath as Treasurer, with Florence Gut-omen as Assistant treasurer. Hilario Dumasan was appointed Auditor, while Bryner Bandonill and Mary Bacwaden will serve as Business Managers. Members Antonette Rupinta and Lilibeth Chapap will handle social concerns.
Meanwhile, senior organization leaders from various barangays of Bontoc also took their oath. Purok leaders include Lilibeth Chapap for Bogbogan Poblacion, Elizabeth Cadchan for Barracks, Esther Fumucao for Bontoc Ili, Mary Bacwaden for Loc-ong Sub-ang, and Virginia Lopez for Loc-ong, ASM. Rosalina Pidlao and Emelia Olosan were sworn in as purok leaders for Market CPD, while Purita Canisi and Mary Tudlong will represent Eyeb and Jungletown. Teodora Gaston was named purok leader for Barangay Talubin, with Mary Akaes and Mary Tayab for Barangay Tocucan.
Mayor Tudlong commended the officers and members for their active involvement, emphasizing that their organization strengthens unity and camaraderie among senior citizens.
He also highlighted that having a well-represented group would make it easier for them to seek and access government assistance.
Following the oath-taking, the mayor engaged in a fruitful discussion with the officers, addressing their concerns about benefits, as well as their plans, proposals, and projects aimed at enhancing the welfare of senior citizens. By Shannon Anthea S. Pagaduan
