TABUK CITY, Kalinga – The Tabuk City Police Station recorded a decrease in the number of index crimes in the city to seven crimes from December 2024 to January 2025 cutting by 50 percent the 14 crimes logged in the same period last year.
In the crime situation data presented by the TCPS during the first quarter joint CADAC-CPOC-ELCAC meeting on January 13 at the Golden Berries Hotel, Rape topped the list of index crimes with four cases, followed by Robbery (2), and Theft (1). There were zero cases of Homicide, Physical Injuries, and Carnapping.
Criminal cases were filed in court for five cases while the remaining two are still under investigation. Most of these crimes were committed in Brgy. Bulanao, Bulanao Norte, Cabaruan, and Dagupan West.
As for operational accomplishment, authorities arrested two wanted persons through warrants of arrest for violation of R.A. 9262 (Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act) and R.A. 7610 (Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act).
Anti-Illegal Drugs Campaign
The strengthened Anti-Illegal Drug Operations of the TCPS resulted in the arrest of seven individuals in three separate operations in Brgy. Lacnog, Malin-awa, and Dagupan Weste through Buy Bust, Search Warrant, and Police Response. Said operations yielded 58.9 grams of Methamphetamine Hydrochloride commonly known as shabu with a street value of 401,081 pesos.
PLTCOL Benson B. Macli-ing, Acting Chief of Police, vowed to strengthen the anti-criminality and anti-illegal drug programs of the TCPS as he sought the community’s support and deeper engagement with the PNP to maintain peace and order in Tabuk.
Mayor Darwin C. Estrañero maintained his strong support for the police with initiatives to strengthen their operational capability. The mayor recently turned over two units of brand-new Toyota Hilux to the TCPS to assist in their logistics needs, improve response time, and expand their police patrol and visibility. By Tabuk PIO
