BAGUIO CITY – A 27-year old woman, who was believed to be one of the recruiters of a Ponzi firm, was arrested based on a warrant for syndicated estafa in her residence at Irisan here Thursday.
Senior Superintendent George D. Daskeo, officer-in-charge of the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO), identified the arrested suspect as Marietta Apiit, 27, married and a resident of Irisan, Baguio City, who allegedly worked as a staf of Wisdom Express Wealth Trading and Marketing previously based at the Maharlika Livelihood Center.
She was arrested by virtue of a warrant issued by Judge Maria Ligaya Itliong Rivera of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 5 for syndicated estafa with no bail recommended for her temporary liberty.
Apiit was among the six individuals who had been charged under Wisdom Express Wealth Trading and Marketing after they allegedly divested people millions of pesos with a promised high interest in return which never materialized.
The arrested individual was turned over to the Baguio City Jail after the court issued the appropriate detention mitimus against her.
