TABUK CITY, Kalinga – The barangay population coordinators (BPCs) under the supervision of the City Population and Development Office (CPDO) have commenced the profiling of inhabitants and migrants in identified barangays.
Through this Registry of Barangay Inhabitants and Migrants (RBIM), BPCs can generate demographic and socio-economic information that can be used for development planning.
It uses the RBIM form that contains the full name of the person, birthdate, sex, address, birthplace, relationship to household head, religion, marital status, ethnicity and health insurance.
RBIM forms are accomplished and submitted to the Population Development (PopDev) Office for encoding. Once completed, it will be turned over to the Commission on Population for future use, as well as to the Department of Interior and Local Government as a document for the Seal of Good Local Governance. Since the profiling began in January 2025, the BPCs have already met 40% of their target.
In today’s meeting with 50 BPCs, City PopDev Officer Jonalyn Kiser, stated that RBIM profiling helps barangays develop accurate baseline data on their inhabitants. Implementing RBIM makes it easy to identify residents and migrants, verify their documentation for clearance issuance, and plan accordingly. It will also determine the LGU’s response during emergencies and disasters.
Back in 2024, PopDev trained 50 BPCs on natural family planning and the Data Privacy Act. The RBIM is expected to finish on April 30, 2025. By Darwin Serion
