TUBLAY, Benguet – A 56-year old chicken dung porter was hurt after he was repeatedly stabbed by a fellow porter within the chicken dung trading center here Thursday.
Senior Superintendent Florante Camuyot, officer-in-charge of the Benguet Provincial Police Office, identified the stabbing victim as Carmelito Tobio Parao, 56, married, porter and a resident of Cabanao, Shilan, La Trinidad, Benguet while he named the suspect as Marson Sitim Kimayong, 30, married, porter and a resident of Tili, Shilan, La Trinidad, Benguet.
Initial police investigation showed the victim and the suspect, together with some companions, were having a drinking spree when the former decided to go to sleep inside their rented quarters.
After a few moments, the victim went back to where the drinking session was going on and advised the suspect and his companions to go to sleep.
At this juncture, the suspect was irked and reportedly stabbed the victim several times on his abdomen before leaving the crime scene.
The victim was rushed by his companions to the Benguet General Hospital (BeGH) for medical treatment while responding operatives were able to arrest the suspect along Shilan road.
The 7-inch kitchen knife used by the suspect in the said incident was turned over to the police operatives by his wife and the appropriate charges against him is being readied for filing before the provincial prosecutor’s office.
