BAGUIO CITY – A porter died after he was bumped by a speeding taxi and was subsequently rammed over by a truck on the opposite direction along Marcos highway, here, Sunday night.
Police authorities identified the fatality as Primitivo Ceraon Ellamil Jr., 43, single, porter, resident of Victory Liner Gov. Pack Road, Baguio City.
Initial police investigation showed the victim just alighted from a taxi in the place of incident and was about to cross the road when he was bumped by a speeding taxi that immediately fled towards the direction of Green Valley and because of the impact of the bump, he was thrown to the opposite lane of the road, however, he was then rammed over by a government truck.
He was immediately rushed by concerned residents to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) for medical treatment but he was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians due to multiple head and body injuries.
The driver of the taxi that bumped the victim is now the subject of a manhunt operation by responding police operatives.
