LUNA, Apayao – The Provincial Project Monitoring Committee (PPMC) and the Municipal Project Monitoring Committee (MPMC) of Kabugao recently conducted a joint meeting and monitoring of three local projects built in the municipality to evaluate their progress and functionality on September 24, 2024 with 43 participants from the PPMC, MPMC, Provincial Planning and Development Office, and the Department of Interior and Local Government.
Project Development Officer Cristle Mariz O. Dawangon said the PPMC previously assessed LPMCs’ functionality province-wide based on the points they earned during the first and second quarters of 2024.
Results showed Conner, Luna and Apayao got high functionality; Calanasan, Flora, Pudtol, and Santa Marcela graded medium functionality; while Kabugao rated low functionality, indicating a need for improvement in its LPMC activities.
Meantime, the three local projects monitored in Kabugao include the on-going Construction of Kagawaddan farm-to-market road, Construction of Tourism Information and Display Center, and the completed Buyucan-Palteng-Paco-Mallag Agricultural and Tourism Access Road.
The monitoring team evaluated the projects in terms of progress, compliance in transparency and accountability standards, and adherence to safety regulations to ensure that local development projects achieve their full functionality to benefit yApayaos. By Arjay Baysa
