Rosales, Pangasinan – The regulating and licensing agency for professionals recently released a statement about modus operandi of online scammers targeting professionals who are renewing their licenses.
According to the official website of PRC, these scammers operate through social media networking sites where professionals are reminded “to settle authentications as soon as possible to avoid failure of markings on your [their] renewal proceedings.”
Also, these deceivers provide instructions for payment through depositing to a bank account of a certain Rodrigo F. Balaqui Jr., who is incidentally the regional director of PRC Tuguegarao office. Balaqui on his side however claimed that he has no knowledge of the transaction.
PRC had already conducted an independent investigation and found out that there are similar cases of other professionals who experienced the same swindle. The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) was said to be already working on the case. Different Professional Regulatory Board have been already notified regarding this matter.
PRC left a reminder to transact only in PRC Central Office, Regional Offices, authorized business centers of SM Malls, and duly approved by the commission. Mobile outreach service was one of the legal centers for commission-related transactions.
In relation to outreach service, PRC Baguio Regional office recently announced that their bureau will offer services in Pangasinan as part of PRC’s annuaI ‘Araw ng Propesyonal’ in order to avoid congestion in the office as well as to deliver convenience to their clients.
In Pangasinan, services will be available from 9AM to 4PM on January 9 (Saturday) in Legislative Hall (Audio-Visual Room), Alaminos City and January 11 (Monday) in Robert B. Estrella Sr. Memorial Stadium, Rosales.
Aside from those who will be renewing their licenses, PRC will also accommodate those who will process initial registration for licensure examination passers; application for licensure examinations; release of professional ID card and certificate of registration (per prior request by the professional and subject to availability); issuance (upon request) of certification of good standing; and issuance of certificates of passing and ratings for Nursing Licensure Exam, Licensure Examination for Teachers and Criminologists only.
