TABUK CITY, Kalinga – In anticipation of the grand celebration of Tabuk City’s 75th founding anniversary, local department heads and line agencies convened for an Executive Command (EXECOM) meeting on May 21, 2025, at the City Hall Conference Room. The meeting was led by City Administrator Arnold Tenedero to ensure the successful staging of the upcoming Diamond Jubilee Matagoan Festival.
The meeting focused on ensuring that all offices are aligned with their respective roles and responsibilities to guarantee the smooth execution of the festival and anniversary celebration.
The Matagoan Festival is scheduled to run from June 12 to June 29, featuring a wide array of activities aimed at engaging both residents and visitors. The event is designed to highlight Tabuk’s rich culture, foster unity, and provide entertainment for all ages.
Tentative Schedule of Activities: June 6: Tree Planting and Matagoan Congres; June 7: Blood Letting Activity; June 9: Thanksgiving Mass and Grand Ceremonial Opening; June 11–12: PRC Licensing Services; June 12: Opening of PATAWID and Food Fair, Matagoan Wellness and Jobs Fair, and World Day Against Child Labor Celebration in partnership with DOLE ; June 14: Matagoan Bikefest and Ms. Matagoan Coronation Night; June 15: Arrival of Sister LGUs of Tabuk; June 16: Grand Civic Parade, City Foundation Day Program, Festival Lunch, Secondary Drum and Lyre Band Competition, LGU Gala Night, Sister LGUs Fellowship, and 75th Anniversary Fireworks Display; June 17: Parade of Farmers, Cooperatives, Business Sectors, and Line Agencies; Matagoan Indigenous Food Festival; Agri-Vet Games (Veterilympics), Agri-Exhibit Booths, and Farmers’ Fellowship Night; Youth-led Band Concert; June 18: Matagoan Run Relay, Banga Relay, Barangay & Cultural Parade, Invitational Street Dance, Cultural Production “Natagoan Di Tago,” Festival Lunch, and Barangay Solidarity & Awards Night and June 20: Celebrity Concert featuring Rivermaya and Grand Fireworks Display
The city government, through the City Local Government Unit (CLGU), invites all Tabukeños and visitors to join the celebration and take part in marking this historic milestone.
