LA TRINIDAD, Benguet — Under the theme “Nagkakaisang Pulisya at Pamayanan tungo sa Mapayapa at Maunlad na Bansa,” the Police Regional Office Cordillera (PRO-COR) marked its 122nd Police Service Anniversary with the presence of Police General Benjamin C. Acorda Jr., Chief, Philippine National Police on October 19 at Masigasig Grandstand, Camp Major, Bado Dangwa. The event also highlighted the giving of recognitions to various outstanding personnel and units in response to their exceptional service and contributions to peace and order in the region.
In his message, PGEN Acorda exclaimed the importance of unity and collaboration in achieving the PNP’s mission and the five-focus agenda to achieve their mark as one of the most disciplined corps.
“We should have unity, gaya ng palagi natin sinasabi and as a manifestation of the accomplishments, ituloy natin ang ating pagkakaisa. We should have our acts committed as one, when I say we, the police, the community, and the other government agencies, kailangan magsalita ang taong bayan, PGEN Acorda highlighted”
He then recognized the challenges and sacrifices made by the police force in ensuring the safety and security of the Cordillera community.
“Your work embodies our organization’s empathy, making a significant impact on the lives of many. Sa mga nakaraang taon iyon ‘yong pinatunayan na seryoso kayo sa pagsugpo sa ilegal na droga at paglaban sa krimen, gayundin sa pagpanatili ng seguridad at pagtulong sa ating mga kababayan dito sa Cordillera,”PGEN Acorda emphasized.
He added that the police cannot be at all places at one time, he believes that when everyone is helping and united, it will become a norm on the part of the police service.
The program concluded with the Marijuana Ceremonial Destruction, which served as a symbol of ending the “War on Drugs,” followed by the turnover of ambulances, patrol vehicles, wheel chairs, and medical kits to the various units. By Hershey Vallo and Adrian Mas
