CAMP DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet – Seven individuals involved in illegal gambling were arrested by combined police operatives and intelligence agents during a major crackdown against illegal gambling operations over the weekend.
Initially, a gambler was caught in the act of tallying number combination of illegal gambling in the afternoon of July 22, 2017 in front of a restaurant owned by one Grace Manuel Garcia at Sta. Maria, Alfonso Lista after a concerned citizen informed the police of the ongoing transaction of Illegal gambling.
Cops identified the arrested suspect as Baldemor Danao Yabad, JR, 60, laborer and a resident of Sitio Bangar, Sta. Maria, Alfonso Lista. Items recovered from his possession and control were gambling paraphernalia and bet money amounting to eight hundred twenty two pesos.
In the afternoon of the following day, July 23, 2017, six gamblers were likewise arrested after they were caught in the act of playing cards at Pico, La Trinidad, Benguet.
Arrested gamblers were Gener Binbinen Wagtingan, 31, Clint Ceasar Labis Galong, 21; Darryl Angway Pacudan, 18, all construction worker; Crismar Astudillo Dalilis, 27, laborer; Ronald Abakal Palata, 29, miner, and all native and a resident of Shamolog, Pico, La Trinidad, Benguet and Keaton Moga Palitog, 35, laborer, native and resident of Tacarang, Tublay, Benguet.
Confiscated from them is a set of playing cards, and bet money amounting to P2,560.00.
The PROCOR intensified their operations against illegal gambling in response to Executive Order 13 by the President.
