KABUGAO, Apayao – Project BUTSY, the mobile health outreach program of the provincial government, continues to expand its reach, bringing free medical, dental, and eye care services to underserved barangays in the province.
From April 14 to 16, the Provincial Health Office (PHO) deployed medical teams to three far-flung communities Anninipan in Flora, Macalino in Calanasan, and Doña Loreta in Pudtol to provide accessible, quality healthcare for yApayaos.
In Barangay Anninipan, a total of 194 residents were served, with 52 receiving medical consultations, 129 availing of eye care, and 13 undergoing dental procedures. The following day in Barangay Macalino, 83 residents were assisted 36 for medical services and 47 for eye screening. On April 16, 102 residents of Barangay Doña Loreta were reached, including 42 medical consultations and 60 eye care services.
Each stop included an information and education campaign focused on critical health topics such as hygiene, sanitation, nutrition, maternal care, and family planning as part of a broader effort to improve health literacy in rural areas.
Through Project BUTSY, the PHO remains consistent in closing the gap between health services and hard-to-reach communities. Governor Elias C. Bulut Jr., through the PHO, reaffirms his administration’s commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery one barangay at a time. By Diocen Tolentino
