KABUGAO, Apayao – Project BUTSY, the mobile health initiative of the provincial government, reached Barangay Cadaclan, Calanasan on May 23, 2025, providing medical care to residents in one of the province’s far-flung communities.
A total of 130 residents received general medical consultations, 69 underwent eye check-ups and received free eyeglasses, 45 accessed basic laboratory services, and 10 dental procedures were completed. Free medicines were also distributed based on individual prescriptions. Additionally, 120 individuals were referred to the Social Welfare and Development for financial assistance concerns.
Barangay Captain Inovejas Tubban thanked the provincial government for the outreach and acknowledged the Provincial Health Office’s effort to bring healthcare directly to their barangay.
“Agyaman kami ti anus yu nga inmay nangipatulod kadagiti napintas nga programa. Pagyamanan mi Apo, sapay la kuma ta saan lang kadagituy nga tiempo nu di ket ti sumarsaruno nga aldaw,” he said.
Provincial Health Officer Dr. Mark Joleen Calban reiterated the program’s continuity. “Tuloy-tuloy pa rin po ang pagbibigay namin ng serbisyong pangkalusugan at katuwang natin ang iba’t ibang agencies,” he said, emphasizing inter-agency coordination in bringing services closer to underserved areas.
Project BUTSY supports the health agenda of Congresswoman Eleanor C. Bulut-Begtang and Governor Elias C. Bulut Jr., which prioritizes inclusive access to quality healthcare, especially in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas. By Loremia Pareja
