TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Sectoral representatives of the barangay such as farmers, women, youth, persons with disabilities, 4Ps, nongovernment organisations, together with the barangay council of Gobgob, attended the annual barangay revisit which is facilitated by the City Planning and Development Office on February 8, 2022.
“This barangay revisit is very important since this is a venue for you to raise your concerns and come up with what is best for your locality. Your barangay development plan is not just a plan of your local leaders, rather, this is a collective plan of the people”, councilor Kristian Wandag said in his opening remarks.
Top priorities that are essential in addressing the concerns of the barangays include the following: 1. Improvement of Road, Talac-Tangbay, 2. Continuation of Creek Protection at Purok 1, 3. Continuation of Road Concreting at Purok 2, 4. Improvement of Farm-to-Market Road at Bulagot, 5. Improvement of Road to Cemetery at Purok 3, 6. Slab Bridge at Purok 4, 7. Construction of Deepwell at Purok 5, 8. Wheelbase at Purok 6, 9. Improvement of Waya-Tangbay Road at Purok 7 and 10. Pathway at Purok 8.
In his message, Mayor Darwin C. Estrañero emphasized the completion of this year’s multipurpose hall and barangay health center improvements.
He recognized the urgent need of the barangay for a larger and conducive hall for the constituents availing of the barangay’s frontline services after looking through the barangay’s priorities last year.
Since many constituents visit the barangay health center near the hall on a regular basis for health consultations, he continued, the aforementioned center needs to be improved. This will have a spacious room to accommodate clients, as well as an air conditioning unit. The amount of P3,000,000 will be spent on both structures.
In addition, he stated that a flood control structure worth P5,000,000 will be built near the vicinity of the multipurpose hall compound, as the drainage system continues to flood the area during the rainy seasons.
Finally, ABC president Henry Tubban Jr. expressed his complete support for the barangay’s development strategy and urged the residents to be attentive and constantly monitor all projects that are being implemented or planned in their barangay. By Eisenhower Bucalen
