TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Around 300 members of the Prosecutor’s League of the Philippines Second Judicial Region will be coming to Kalinga to attend the organization’s regional convention set on the second week of April, Provincial Fiscal Bartolome Gamonnac said during the monthly Kapehan meeting on Monday with Governor James Edduba.
Two undersecretaries of the Department of Justice (DOJ) will also be gracing the event, Gamonnac said, noting that the officials have become interested in Kalinga following the historic Awong chi Gangsa; Agtu’n chi Banga which has gained attention on social media.
Gamonnac said the undersecretaries are particularly keen on meeting world-renowned mambabatok Apo Whang-od and experiencing the Chico River white water rafting.
With the guests coming from different provinces, Gamonnac said the event would be a good opportunity to promote Kalinga’s tourism, and has asked for support from local chief executives for the successful holding of the event.
The Prosecutor’s League of the Philippines is an association of active and former public prosecutors and prosecuting attorneys in the National Prosecution Service of the DOJ. The Second Judicial Region covers Apayao, Ifugao, Kalinga, and Cagayan Valley.
