Manila – The Provincial Government of Mountain Province was once again recognized for its continuing commitment towards good governance and efficient leadership during the national awarding of the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) held at the Tent City, Manila Hotel on December 9, 2024.
Governor Bonifacio C. Lacwasan, Jr., together with former Provincial Administrator Franklin C. Odsey, received the 2025 SGLG award from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) authorities led by its very own DILG Undersecretary Marlo L. Iringan. With them were DILG-CAR Regional Director Araceli A. San Jose and DILG Mountain Province Provincial Director Evelyn B. Trinidad.
Also with the Governor’s team were Board Member Johnson D. Bantog II, Executive Assistant Winston V. Calde, and other officials and personnel from the provincial and municipal local government unit – awardees.
With the award, Mountain Province was once again put into the spotlight for winning the award this year after being recognized as the lone province in the Cordillera Administrative Region to bag the prestigious award last year, 2023. It can be recalled that Mountain Province was also a recipient of the award for two consecutive years in 2016 and 2017.
Moreover, the municipalities of Barlig, Bauko, Besao, and Sabangan were also accorded with the SGLG seal. These were received by their respective local chief executives – Mayors Clark C. Ngaya (Barlig), Randolf T. Awisan (Bauko), Bryne O. Bacwaden (Besao), and Marcial C. Lawilao, Jr. (Sabangan).
“It is with extreme gladness that we share these awards with our people. We couldn’t have done it alone. We, therefore, express our profound gratitude to all our Provincial Government workforce, all our partners in governance, and our own people who continue to inspire us and who are the very reason that we are trying our very best to improve our services – all for the best interests of our beloved Mountain Province,” Governor Lacwasan said.
