BONTOC, Mountain Province – A memorandum of agreement (MOA) for the renewal of livelihood support to rebel returnees in Mountain Province was signed on February 25, 2025.
The signatories of the MOA include Governor Bonifacio C. Lacwasan, Jr., Provincial Engineer Edward B. Likigan and the beneficiaries as the principal signatories and Vice Governor Francis O. Tauli and Provincial Social Welfare and Development (PSWD) Officer Jackielyn O. Guitangan as witnesses.
As stated in the agreement, the provincial government, upon proper coordination, recommendation, and certification, will provide an amount of 6,000 pesos to each beneficiary per month. This amount will serve as an honorarium/wage to the beneficiaries in exchange for their efforts in executing community service in their respective barangays. According to Guitangan, the honorarium was increased from 5,500 pesos last year, 2024 to 6,000 pesos this 2025.
As agreed, all beneficiaries will render community service from Monday to Friday (except holidays) for at least eight hours per day starting on March 1 to December 31, 2025.
They will be in coordination with the Provincial Engineering Office with regards to their work schedule and the preparation of their accomplishment reports. Moreover, the respective barangays of the beneficiaries will provide necessary supervision and direction to the beneficiaries while the PSWD Office will be in charge of monitoring the performance of the beneficiaries.
Meanwhile, also in attendance during the MOA signing ceremony as additional witnesses were Board Member Ricardo M. Masidong, Jr. and respective barangay captains of the beneficiaries. By MP-PIO
