The 42nd Philippine Business Conference (PBC) and Expo is an important annual and one of the most prestigious business activities organized by the country’s largest business organization in the country, the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI). This two-day event is slated on October 12-13, 2016 at the Marriott Grand Ballroom, Newport City Complex, Pasay City.
This is according to PBC chairman Angelito Colona, vice-president of PCCI and chairman-CEO of the holding company, Eagle Express Group said that local and foreign companies wanting to establish new ventures or seeking new markets find it highly attractive to attend this two –day event due to the many networking benefits it offer.
This year’s theme will focus on reforms capsulated in the acronym “G.I.A.N.T. S.T.E.P.S., 2016 and Beyond.” That will help the country leapfrog to an investment-led, poverty-reducing all inclusive economic growth. These reforms are in the areas of Good Governance, Infrastructure, Agriculture, New Era in Manufacturing, Tourism, Science and Technology, Education, People’s Skills and Source of Financing.
For the conference, the PCCI organized a CEO breakfast forum, six plenary with the following issues and concerns; PS 1 – Sulong Pilipinas: Propelling the Economy to Higher Levels of Growth, PS2 – Competitive Infrastructure: Building the foundation of a Resilient Economy; PS3 – The Philippines in ASEAN, East Asia Economic Community and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation: Moving Beyond the Rhetoric; PS4- Legislative Agenda: Advancing Competitiveness, Fostering Inclusive Growth; PS5 – One Belt, One Road, Widening the Opportunities for International Trade and Investment; PS 6- Strategic Interventions in Key Economic Sectors: Expanding Industries, Supporting Local Economies.
Business matching and networking sessions, simultaneous break-out sessions, presentation of awards, and awards night and fellowship, and dinner are the other highlight activities during the 42nd PBC.
On the closing day, delegates coming from the country’s different regions will submit recommendations or resolutions to PPRRDuterte for his possible adoption as policies that will further improve the business climate in the country.
The 42nd PBC will be attended by about 1,000 participants from Chamber’s network of more than executives and business leaders of 120 local chambers, 100 industry associations, the diplomatic corps, and foreign business delegations.
