LUNA, Apayao – In line with the 27th National Statistics Month Provincial Celebration this October, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Apayao Provincial Office conducted an information campaign on the 2015 Census of Population (POPCEN 2015) results at Nouva Vita Hotel here, recently.
The PSA Apayao invited all National Line Agencies, the Provincial Government of Apayao and representatives from the different municipalities of Apayao to be abreast of the latest result of population census made last year covering 2010-2015.
According to Mr. Geoffrey Calimuhayan, OIC-PSO of Apayao, there is a need to inform the people especially those offices in the province who are involved in the planning and implementation of programs as quality information can be of aide in the formulation of effective means to solve issues.
“In line with this year’s theme, ‘Sustainable Development: Making Statistics Count,’ the exact information and quality data provided to stakeholders in the Province of Apayao will be used in evaluating problems in terms of population, so we hope those participants today will be aggressive enough to disseminate also these data to their respective offices and to the people concerned,” Mr. Calimuhayan said.
With 100.98 million persons already of the Philippines, the population of the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) as of August 1, 2015 is 1,722,006 in which the Province of Apayao records the lowest number with only 119,000 based on the POPCEN 2015.
