BAGUIO CITY – The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) has launched the 35th celebration of Statistics Month this October, which was announced by Regional Director of PSA-CAR, Villafe Alibuyog on a kapihan session at Bibak hall, Baguio, City. The theme for this year’s celebration is “Advancing Data and Statistics Through Digital Transformation: A Road to an Empowered Nation.”
This theme envisions a future where digital technology enhances the role of data in building prosperous and empowered nations. Embracing the power of digital transformation, Director Alibuyog emphasizes the latest advancements in information and communication technology for the accurate and relevant gathering, processing, and dissemination of data.
The National Statistics Month (NSM) aims to promote nationwide awareness and appreciation of the importance of statistics across various sectors of society. It also seeks to elicit the cooperation and support of the public in upholding the quality and standards of the country’s statistical data.
Director Alibuyog reiterated the significance of advanced technology in adapting to modern methods, shifting from traditional manual data processing. “By adopting digital methodologies, we can create ways to empower communities and institutions,” she stated, emphasizing that participation in this new approach leads to innovative solutions and informed decision-making.
“Together, we stand in this new era where digital transformation empowers us, paving the way for innovative solutions and informed decision-making that leaves no one behind,” she remarked during the Kapihan session.
