LUNA, Apayao – The Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) opened the First Quarter Provincial Management and Development Conference (PMDC) on March 3, 2025, at Star Jewel Lodge, San Isidro Sur, Luna.
Running until March 5, the three-day conference gathers 35 personnel from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), PSWDO, and the seven municipal social welfare and development offices (MSWDOs).
The conference started with a capacity-building session where DSWD personnel discussed social welfare and development laws, social protection programs, best practices documentation guidelines, and donation management.
On March 4, DSWD personnel conducted a Disaster Response Operations Management, Information and Communication (DROMIC) drill. DROMIC, under the Disaster Response Management Bureau of DSWD, monitors and reports disaster events while managing the department’s disaster response data.
The final day will focus on case inventory reports and planning. Representatives from the seven MSWDOs will present their 2024 accomplishments and their Work and Financial Plan for 2025. The PSWDO will also present its strategies and implementation plans for various social welfare programs, along with best practices in social welfare service delivery. By Michelle Acantilado
