CERVANTES, Ilocos Sur – Parents-Teachers Association (PTA) has completed and ready to turn-over a two rooms, two- storey building to the Department of Education at Cervantes National High School (CNHS) starting this school year 2020-2021.
Orlando Molina Jr, the school’s PTA president, led the said project which was realized using the PTA fund initiated by the school principal Carlito T. Iligan.
“This is in support of the CNHS’s strengthened education program to provide more conducive learning facilities for our learners,” Molina said.
The said building, named PTA Building, is intended to be for carpentry learners but due to lack of regular classrooms, it will be occupied by Grade 8 learners in the meantime.
At least P1 million was used in the construction of the building, according to property custodian of the school Arliegh Asejo.
“First floor started SY 2014 and finished in 2015, while the second floor commenced construction in SY 2019 and finished in 2020,” said Leah Dimas, teacher and PTA Treasurer.
“It is very helpful for us, especially for the welfare our learners, because we lack classrooms. It would surely address the yearly increase in number of learners in our school. Thank you very much to all who initiated this project,” said Jennifer T. Digan, a teacher of the said school.
