The Provincial Persons with Disabilities Office (PWDO) Ifugao will open its application process for educational assistance to Persons with Disabilities (PWD) students in Ifugao in September 2025.
The program aims to subsidize school fees among high school and college students with disabilities. The program also supports the Magna Carta for PWD (RA 7277), in the provision of equal access to education and training.
According to Analiza A. Mangil, Admin Aide IV, it seeks to ease the burden for families who have PWD members in their family and are struggling financially.
Mangil emphasized the successful applicants will receive educational assistance during the second semester of the academic year 2025-2026. High school grantees will receive PhP 3,000 and PhP 6,000 for college.
For the applicants, they should prepare a valid PWD Identification Card (ID), updated school ID, proof of enrollment, and passing grades that should be submitted at the PWDO in September.
“Case to case basis ang pag-aaplika sa educational assistance kung hindi kaya nang estudyante pumunta, pwedeng ‘yong parent o guardian ang pumunta upang mag-apply. If ever available na ang educational assistance ‘yong parent din o guardian ang pupunta lalo na sa malalayong municipalotoes na bibiyahe (The application is in case to case basis, if the student is unable to apply, the parent or guardian can apply on behalf of the student. The parent or guardian can also receive the educational assistance especially to those who live in different municipalities,” Mangil shared.
The PWDO is encouraging qualified students and their families to prepare the requirements. For more information on the application, students or parents may visit the PWDO at the Provincial Capitol.// Jovey Jhen V. Fernandez, BSU-DevCom Intern
