LUNA, Apayao – The Provincial Health Office (PHO) Apayao, in collaboration with the Amma Jadsac District Hospital, recently provided free medical services to barangay Salvacion, Luna on August 20, 2024 in an effort to bring access to healthcare services closer to the people, primarily to underserved members of the community.
The free medical services were given as part of the Project BUTZY, a health care program of Governor Elias C. Bulut Jr. for all yApayaos, especially the underserved.
These free services include medical consultations, eye care, dental services, laboratory services, circumcision, and pharmacy services. The medical event served more than 120 residents in the said barangay.
The project BUTSY stands for for “Bringing Universal healthcare services Towards a Sustainable program implementation Yielding to a resilient yApayao.” Its main goal is to extend medial and health services to remote areas.
The successful conduct of the program, according to the PHO, comes from the concerted efforts of PHO personnel and its partners serving the community, adding that the assistance provided by Barangay Health Workers (BHWs), personnel from Rural Health unit (RHU), and professional health workers, demonstrate their sincere care for the welfare of the constituents.
Amma Jadsac District Chief of Hospital Doctor Mary Elisa Galleon emphasized that “Project BUTSY is bringing healthcare services to the doorstep of our yApayao’s especially to remote areas. Thus, we should be thankful to the Provincial Government of Apayao for their endless support and care because together, no one will be left behind.”
With Project BUTSY, health care services will continue to serve those who need the most making their way around Apayao Province so that every yApayao deserve to receive the care they need and together as one, no one will be left behind.
