The Rotary Club of Baguio North (RCBN) under the leadership of President Aris Datuin, president-elect Jonathan Vergara , Rotaracts and RCBN Rotarians, its sister club of the Rotary Club of Taguig West, District 3830 led by their President, Hector Santos, together with its sister club, the Rotary Club of Taipei Elite led by their past president Mr. Daniel Hsieh-Hsien Lin who is part of the Vocational Team Global Grant, joined in the launching of the Joint Library Project for Adiwang Elementary School on June 19, 2018.
The RCBN, District 3790 of Rotary International adopted the Adiwang Elementary School a decade ago implementing various development project for the school and school children to fully realize their life through education. The Joint Library Project of the three Rotary clubs seeks to provide the resources to support reading as one foundation of a child’s educational development.
The Rotary project handed over around 2,500 books of various references and workbooks for kindergarten to higher grades to the school’s Officer-in-Charge and Rotary Community Corps (RCC-Representative) Eugene B. Patinglag on behalf of the school principal Philip Sagalla.
The launching of the Joint Library Project was witnessed by the members of the school faculty, pupils with the overwhelming support of the Parents teachers Association headed by Crispin Gayadan. The program has ended with pupils performing cultural dances and the singing of the Kankana-ey song “Bebsat” as a simple way of saying “Thank you.”
