BAGUIO CITY – The 2024 Regional Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Forum was successfully held at the Newtown Plaza Hotel in Baguio City on 29-30 May 2024, bringing together project monitoring officers and implementers across the region. Organized by the Cordillera Regional Project Monitoring Committee (RPMC-CAR), the forum is aimed at aligning stakeholders to the operationalization of the Regional Project Monitoring and Evaluation System (RPMES).
Following the cascading of the Revised RPMES Operational Guidelines in 2023, the event capacitated the Project Monitoring Officers on the new single model online RPMES.
The forum included a refresher orientation on the key features of the updated RPMES guidelines, the roll-out of eRPMES, identification of funded projects for 2024 to be enrolled in the system, and discussion of slope protection methodologies. RPMC-CAR Chairperson and NEDA-CAR Regional Director Susan A. Sumbeling opened the event, stressing the significance of effective project monitoring for timely and efficient implementation of development projects.
A knowledge-sharing session by Engr. Dan Michael Carmelo and Engr. Arnold O. Dacwag of the DPWH-CAR highlighted the challenges and solutions in road slope protection management in the Cordillera Region.
Participants comprised of project monitoring officers from line agencies, provincial local government units, RPMC members, and state universities and colleges.
The forum concluded with remarks from RPMC Co-Chairperson and DBM-CAR Regional Director Irene B. Gahid, who underscored the importance of project monitoring through RPMES.
