TABUK CITY, Kalinga – The ‘Saranay’ program, a localized version of the Koop Kapatid Program of the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) has once again reached out to another small cooperative.
‘Saranay’ was able to link four cooperatives of different status today namely the Holy Trinity Cathedral Multipurpose Cooperative (HTCMPC), Provincial Engineering Office Personnel Multipurpose Cooperative (PEOPMPC)-both large cooperative, Tabuk Municipal Officials and Employees Multipurpose Cooperative (TMOEMPC), a medium cooperative, and the St. John the Evangelist Agriculture Cooperative, a small cooperative.
Program Development Officer, III Engr. Ronald Ryan Jose of the City Cooperatives Enterprise and Development Office (CCEEO), explained that ‘Saranay’, an Ilokano term for bayanihan or malasakit to serve and help others, gives the four distinct cooperatives responsibilities to perform to achieve mutual trust and cooperation.
Jose mentioned that the HTCMPC and PEOEMPC, being the mentor, shall provide technical assistance on the conduct of in-house training, coaching, tutorial on basic bookkeeping and delinquency control; assist in the promotion and marketing of the services or products of the mentee cooperative; and make investment thru savings or time deposit to the mentee cooperative, among others.
Meanwhile, the SJEAC and TMOEMPC. as the mentee, shall allow the program coordinators to document the progress of the program for filing or documentation and for press release; and must abide by the guidelines and agreements set.
