TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Six city scholars who graduated from college this year with Latin honors were given a cash incentive from the city government during Monday’s flag raising ceremony.
Awardees are Angel Salusad, graduated with the degree in Entrepreneurship; Vergel Soliman, with the degree in Business Administration; Cristita Mae Torres, with the degree in Elementary Education; Jestony Dao-an, finished a degree in Secondary Education major in Mathematics.
These four scholars finished their respective courses as magna cum laude at the Kalinga State University (KSU), and they received PhP15,000 each.
Another awardee is Christ John Solbita, who graduated as cum laude at the KSU with the degree Secondary Education major in English.
Ticha Mae Malondon was also recognized after finishing her Pharmacy course at the International School of Asia and the Pacific (ISAP)- Kalinga as cum laude.
Solbita and Malondon were both given PhP10,000 for their success.
Mayor Darwin Estrañero and City Special Concerns and Coordinating Officer Glen Wansi presented the cash incentive and certificate of recognition to the six awardees.
The scholarship program of the city government is one of the priority programs of the Estrañero administration to help poor but deserving students get college education. By Darwin S. Serion
